		Hi
I created an application on a remote server that I have access to, that generates 4 QVDs of various sizes (smallest 195.000 records and the largest 25 million). No errors reported during creation.
I copy these files to my desktop (running build 12451) and these files are not readable by a local application that I have build to load them.
When I open the File Wizard type QVD and select the file I do not see the columns or data or anything - it just sits there even for the smallest file.
Has anyone encountered this issue?
Thanks
Alexis

The QVD files on the server were copied to a NAS environment before being copied to my laptop/desktop - I suspect that this might be the cause in the end - copying directly to my laptop as we speak when I will be able to confirm..

		More specifically:
QVDs created in Build 12904 CAN be read by Build 12904
QVDs created in Build 12904 CANNOT be read by Build 12451
QVDs created in Build 12451 CAN be read by Build 12451
QVDs created in Build 12451 CAN be read by Build 12904
I am resorting to creating (txt) files instead but this is not a solution especially with the number of records that we are processing.
ANY ASSISTANCE would be highly appreciated
Alexis

I would contact Customer Support or Qlik Support and see if it's a bug.

		Yes it was NAS.
A copy from QlikView Server directly to my laptop (where I am doing the development) produced nice healthy QVD files that are readable.
