QlikView Books

Hi,

I am new with QlikView.

I have recently started using QlikView to generate reports for my Organization. Kindly suggest me some good books in order to learn more about QlikView.

Regards,

Arun Kukna

My preference would be color. So much of Qlikview is about the use of color, I can't imagine an effective book without it.

I prefer the Kindle version over printed copy.

However, I'd choose a color book with good quality paper over a B&W copy.

Cheers,

Hi,

My sense is that color over black & white for QlikView book is awesome, just as Rob said. However, looking at it from the point of having the book with you, without the weight of the book, on your kindle app will be good. At time on the train (especially when it is crowed) you might want to read, and kindle or ipad (on iPad once the kindle app is downloaded color is not an issue) is so easy to bring out and read.

I will recommend producing a kindle version of the book. I have requested a kindle version on Amazon.

Gabriel.

Hi all,

Thanks for taking the time to reply to my question.

Gabriel,  I agree with what you said about the Kindle version.

"Practical QlikView" is now available in Paperback from createspace (https://www.createspace.com/3894158) , and from Amazon in Kindle\Paperback format.

Amazon.com

Amazon.co.uk

I went with B&W images for the first edition.  I might produce a color version later on but this decision was based purely to keep the cost of the paperback version low compared to the Kindle version.

Especially when the same information is in the Kindle and Paperback version.

Hi Deepak,

Hope you had a chance to read the book. It would be great to get your feedback. Also based on all the responses, creating a color version, including a kindle version seems a good idea

Look forward to hear from you.

Warm regards,

Raj

Hi Shubham Kumar,

Thanks for the note. The first edition was reviewed by Rob Wunderlich and a

few others. (Thanks Rob again). There has been a great support for the book

in the US and Europe particularly. China and Japan are picking up (Thanks

to Amazon China and Japan for listing).

I am collecting all the feedbacks and suggestions on the book. Please let

me know your thoughts and would love to add / remove based on

suggestions/criticisms.

Planning to bring the second edition out around December - primarily a bit

more concise and more illustrations. Readers/buyers of first edition will

see the updates online on the book site: http://www.qv4ent.com.

Request everyone to provide feedback through

Hi Raj,

I would be more than happy to provide my feedbacks. Thanks for your link to join it through all the online way. As I was going thru your post in linkedin, you said this book is not meant for QV Developer & Designer, its more about the QV Consulting prospective. And will be used for large implementation. That's true about the book. But my suggestion would be to release a book for QV Developer & Designer category so the toddlers would be benefited more easily.

Best Regards,

Skumar
