Hi Pratyush,

A local administrator account is required to install QlikView Server because of the permissions it needs to work as a service in Windows and to be allowed to write and make all the changes to make when using the QEMC (that eventually can modify or create Windows Registry keys or new xml and ini settings files, as any other software). Reloads, to mention one example, overwrite existing files and should be able create new files in folders and assign permissions on those files.

As far as the software installation is concerned, you cannot install certain software in your computer if you are not a Power User, but in case of QlikView you need to be full local administrator.

If you try to install QlikView Server as normal user, the first problem is that it highly likely will not install, but even if it does, it will no be able to run some of the services, manage permissions and connections and perform tasks.

Hope that makes sense.

Hi,

An account in the Local Group "Administrators" is required to make the Server work in versions 10 and 11.

Hope that helps.
