Hi all,
I have a question regarding the recycling of DOC CALS.
Just to be clear, I fully understand how they work and the quarantine period etc, but I do have a specific question around a user taking another DOC CAL within the quarantine period.
When I purchased my DOC CALS from a UK reseller, I was told to double up my purchase, .e.g if I had a client base of 30 users, I could purchase 15 DOC CALS (concurrent connections) and then double them up (so by 30 CALs in total). I could then recycle 15 DOC CALs on a daily basis and would then have 15 spare CALs that could be reused during the quarantine period of the previous 15.
Now... testing this, I have a user who accessed and then had their CAL reset (quarantined for 24 hours), as expected.
The issue now is that the same user can no longer log in - I would have expected them to take another free CAL, which there are available. But no, instead they get "the server had no user cal for your account" message.
Am I missing something here or have I been ill-advised by my reseller?
Thanks
Imtiaz
Hi Imtiaz,
take a look at this post: QlikView Server - Quarantine question
It seems be useful restart the services.
Let us know.

Hi Simone,
Thanks, I saw that post previously, but it's not the same issue.
I have a user who is trying to access again within 24 hours. I understand that the CAL is now out of action, but I have spare and would have expected him to grab another license?
That's not happening - he now cannot access for 24 hours.
Thanks
Immy

I think it's better to refer to your master to understand what's hapenning.
My master??
The company that sold you the Qlikview
I am but at the same time, this is specific to Qlik licensing so perhaps an answer can also be found here on the community.
