Qvw size is 80 MB and server RAM is 32GB But application response is very very slow..Any Help...?

Hi all,

am just shocking why my application response is very very slow.

Application size is 80 MB and server RAM is 32 GB , and I opened only one application in the server but the response to my work is very very slow.

Server Details : Windows server 2008 ,

  processor - Intel Xeon CPU E7

  RAM : 32 GB

  OS : 64 bit.

it is taking 30 secs to open any charts Properties and for small cosmetic change it is taking 30 - 40 sec.

Already I faced this problem on Friday  and them I shared this issue with the admin , he rebooted the server , and after that it was good and now just after 1 day from rebooting the server again facing the same problem.

Any suggestions to me or Admin ...?

Performance not only depends on the File Size  but also the following factors

- Data showing in the charts(Tables with huge records)

- Huge calculations using Aggr()

- Poor DataModel design

- Displaying Lot of charts in a sheet

- Expressions used (Always use Set Analysis for better performance)

1) Make sure that application other than QlikView is not running on the server.

2) Check your data model. Check joins are proper and not having synthetic key or circular loop.

3) Check which object is taking more response time by loading memory statistic file in separate QV application.

4) Optimize the the calculation of front end object by moving conditions to scripts and use set analysis or create the Flags

if any one of above are  reason for the slow response , just now I closed my application and opened a new QVW application , it is also responding very slowly if I use the sample data which we will get when we install Qv personal Edition.

it is taking 10 sec time to open tables box properties....

I really Don't know what is wrong with Qlikview Installed in my server.

Suggest the possibilities for slow response.

as per your voice can i understood like,your application(QVW file) is working well up to 2 days before and entire server is slow i.e u said all other applications also taking time to open?

if your answer is r8 then please check once Restart the QV services.and ask IT team is there any maintenance like,they installed newly any Database software's or high weight software's.

is this server is having only one login by you or any other persons already have another sessions in Task Manager like below attachment.

these all are impact your machine speed/performance.

Remember one thing if you dedicated one machine to QV server it is too good as per our experts community.

Hi,

Vishal can you check whether any active sessions are there in the memory where the QV server is there.

If so you can limit the sessions time limit in QMC.

actually I am facing this problem from Friday onwards , I informed same to the admin and then he Rebooted the server , after that for few hours it was fine them again it repeated today morning.

FYI , just now checked my server windows task manager

1. there are some more than 15 processor are going on

2. and more than 20 services are also running

3.  active users are only 2 including me.

any suggestions based on the above info.
