Removing "Golf Quest.qvw" from Access Point

Hi

Rookie SBS server question. A client has requested the Golf Quest.qvw, Movies DataBase.qvw and Sales Compass.qvw be removed from display when users log  to select a model.

How do I go about achieving this and are the any consequences?

p.s. step by step instructions please.

  • Open QMC
  • Goto System->Setup->QlikView Servers->Select your server->Folders->Document Folders and write down the value of 'Root Folder'.
  • On your server, start Windows Explorer and navigate to the path specified by field 'Root Folder'.
  • Delete (or move) every file stat starts with 'Golf Quest'.

The document will disappear immediately from the AccessPoint.

Peter

[Edit] Sorry, forgot about the others. Move all files you want to drop from the AP to another location, or simply delete them. Leave all others where they are (especially the .pgo files)

Remove the reload schedules (if any) from these document. Remove any doc cals assigned to those qlikview files. After you've done that you can remove the .qvw files. Alternatively you can remove just the read privileges on the .qvw files. That will prevent the users from seeing the document listed in the access point.

These are just example QlikView documents provided for them to see the capabilities of QlikView. These can be safely removed. Simply go to the documents folder and delete the QlikView documents. If they like to keep them for future reference, they can move it to some other location.

Alternatively, they can also hide the documents from AccessPoint by removing the access to these documents in the QlikView Management Console under the Authorization tab of the document.

The Authorization tab will only be available in QMC if you enable DMS. And DMS requires an Enterprise Edition server. Got one?
