Restrict one particular user for 7 reports out of 50 reports in access point

Hi Team,

          Note:- we don't have QV publisher license and we don't have Document licenses also.(We have only 10 Named Cal's all r assigned to 10 users)

In this project we have 50 + .qvws available in production(Access point) and we r using NTFS security and here 382 users are there.

Today new user  is created (sample is the name) and  we want him to see only 7 reports to which we want him to be restricted out of 50  reports how can we achieve this?

if possible pls provide screen shots

Hi Rama,

only grant access NTFS permissions to the documents / containing folders that you want the user to access.

u can try this way,

1. go the application whr u published(ue server docs location path)

2. click on whichever the applications(those 7..one by one) u have to provide access,right click --properties--security tab--clik Edit button----click Add button---here u can provide INT\USERNAME

u can do the same for rest of the application for that user only,then that user can able to see only those 7 apps from AP.

Hi Team,

In  total  we have 50 reports which  are visible to all users,Now i want 1 user out of these all users who can see only 7 reports(which i will specify) but not all reports (trans-ltd\Sample).

so  plz tell if  it is possible to restrict any user to some specified reports

Note :- we are using LDAP://trans-ltd.com. for directory service.

i.e if i have 271 users, 270 users saw all 50 reports and 1 user needs to see only 7 reports(out of the same 50 reports)

The above process which you specified it restricts in windows authentication but i want to restrict him in "Access point"

will it works? actually this is production server so i am bit fear to do this .

please help me if any other process/Technique

100% it's work,don't worry..nothing will be happen in worst case.

just try with one application,we are using the approach for our users.

         i did your approach like below

t1.qvw file->right click->properties->security->Edit->Add->add new user Sample then it shows transuser(sample@trans.com) ->click OK->click Apply->Click OK

i hope this process is restrict that sample user only for this qvw file in access point
