Run Batch Whether User is Logged on or Not

Hi All,

I have a number of Extract and Transform files that I need to reload using Windows Task Scheduler.

I need to run these whether the user is logged on or not, however this does not work because the Script Execution window needs to open to perform the reload.

I know I can schedule the reloads from the Server, however I don't want the Extract and Transform QVW to be seen on AccessPoint.

How can I get around this, the batch files work fine when I have selected "Run only when user is logged on".

I am sure this is an issue that's been solved by someone possibly gwassenaar or maybe stephen.redmond  or  stevedark

Under pressure to get this sorted

Regards

Alan

Hi Alan,

Do you have Section Access in the application?  If so is the user that the QlikView Distribution service is running as set up in the Section Access to have ADMIN rights?

Running Now from QMC or from Windows Scheduler would run in a different user context - so that could explain why it runs one way and not the other.

You can use the free "JIT Scheduler". It can run as a service and run your reloads without the user being logged in.

Hi Steve,

I have no Section Access set up in the file, yesterday the Reload Now was working but not the scheduled task on QMC.

Now neither of them work, I have had our guy here re-look at permissions and users and groups etc...

but still unable to resolve the issue, I can use the Windows Scheduler for now as it working for what I need, but I want QMC to do it, not Windows.

Alan
