Section Access Problem

Hello,

I am hoping someone can help me. I have section access set up based on brands and I am trying to give someone access to three brands from the same manufacturer which are written as "Brand 1 (Manufacturer), Brand 2 (Manufacturer), and Brand 3 (Manufacturer)".

In my section access I have

USER, BRAND

John Smith, Brand 1 (Manufacturer), Brand 2 (Manufacturer), and Brand 3 (Manufacturer)

When I login to Qlikview it is showing only the user (John Smith) as having access to Brand 1 (Manufacturer). Am I writing this incorrectly? Does section access not allow parentheses? Should I just be writing "Brand 1*, Brand 2*, Brand 3*"?

Help please!

If those are separate selections in the same field, you'll need a new entry for each. If you repeat the user and on each define one of the 3 brands, then he should be able to see all 3.

Also, I'm assuming you're using caps in your actual script, but see this primer on Section Access for a more detailed walkthrough! http://community.qlik.com/docs/DOC-1853

Edit: Example 6 is the type of example you want - although there's a slight error in the document in the table defined that when he says User 5 with the password U4, he means User 4, therefore User 4 can see both Europe and America, due to the two entries, each one providing the access to the different regions.
