Hi All
I have a qlikview server ver:Enterprise edition installed on windows 2008
And i have a qlikview application upon which i have given 10 document call
and 6 named call . There is no problem with the named call user to access this file but the users who have been assigned with Document call
are not getting the access everytime they need to restart there computer to get access . Is there any kind of changes to be made at the qlikview server setting or this is a network issue ?
Thanks
John
Hi John,
There is no relation between End user system restart and Document CAl.
Can you please check ,Assign (Document CAL) for the same QV app to one more new user.If he/she also facing the same issue we need to check.
will get back to you if any settings i found.
Hi Rama
Not all users , but some users face this issue to get access to the Access point , they have to restart there machine
It sounds that the problems are on the user-side and not by qlikview. Which kind of authentication is used? What are the used clients? Which releases from server and clients are used?

The Document CAL users "are not getting the access everytime"... What does that mean? Do they get a login and they cannot enter their credentials? Their credentials suddenly do not work and the dialog keeps reappearing? Do they get a Page-Not-Found error in their browser? Do they get an empty AccessPoint? Do they get the correct thumbnail in the AP but as soon as they click it, the dreaded "Access denied" dialog appears? Do they get another error message from QlikView? Do they get in but nothing is shown? Does the QlikView site lock up? ...
You see, the more details you provide from the start, the faster we get to the cause of your problem.
Best,
Peter
Actaully When an user access the ACCESS POINT (through url ) it will ask for the user name and password , but somtimes the url appears but user after giving the username and password will not be able to login , and he/she has to restart the machine to get access .
Here the authentication is NT Username and Password (Active Directory)
Sounds like a problem with Windows authentication. If you are using regular Windows AD accounts and NTLM authentication in QMC, then Windows needs to know who you are every time you visit a Windows server and before control is passed on to QlikView or the AccessPoint. Somehing in that process appears to break down.
Do both the end-user machines and the QlikView server reside in the same domain? If so you could use SSO to make the login prompt go away entirely.
As this is a typical Windows problem, you may want to talk to your local sysadmin first.
Peter
And another question that may providehelpful information: do Named CAL users and Doc CAL users belong to different user categories? Like for example Named CAL users are mostly developers that use local machines to do development work in the domain of the QlikView server, and Doc CAL users are mobile users with laptops that connect to the company network through VPN?
Peter
Here When i say Named CAL then the users will see all the QVW's in that server on Acess Point (I have totally 5 QVW's) and Documnet Cal i have Assigned depending on which QVW app the user need to open and check .
And all are using laptop and desktop , there is nothing like to access on mobile phone .
The Qlikview Server is in Another state and users are in different state yes they are in same domain .
I did not understand the coceot of SSO ? i have been using as ACTIVE DIRECTORY authentication .
(But being a developer i never faced such problem when accessing the Access point every time i put the url in my web it use to access me .I tried with VPN as well as there network cable ) It is only users facing the problem , they have to restart there machine to get access to it
thanks
Maybe the users have further server-connections like Citrix opened which might block or disrupt anything by the authentication.
