Set value on a field when the user open a document without using the "open document" trigger

Hi!

I would like to set a value on a field when the user open the document. I know that I can use the "open document" trigger in order to add the action "select on field" but the problem is that it does not work on server (access point). It works fine on desktop but not on server (access point). Please, do you know another way to achieve that? Have you ever had a similar situation? How did you solve it?

Thank you!

Linda

I noticed with QV V9 (couple of years ago) that sheet Trigger doesnot fire when you open the document with your destination sheet

So we defined a new sheet, where nothing else than a Trigger was defined to goto the wanted sheet

so the Trigger of the Destination sheet could fire

I donot know if that behaviour is the same in QV 11.20 or QV12

example: you want to open your app with sheet0 and define a Trigger on sheet0 to fire an action

Workaround: you define a new sheetA and define a Trigger goto sheet0
you define a document Trigger to goto sheetA

the enduser will not see that sheetA first will be displayed
