Settings.ini AllowAlternateAdmin=1 does not work

Hi All,

We have a system, where we are getting the message on Access Point as "No Server".

While troubleshooting, we found that, the QVserver is not up and running.

We started the service, but still the message remains as is, when we tried to trouble shoot, we found that, we are getting below error msg when trying to add Login Details in Qlikview Server -

We also tried to do the AllowAlternateAdmin=1 settings in Settings.ini file of QV Server, but no luck.

Can anyone please let us know how we can overcome this scenario.

Regards,

MK

Requirements for editing the QlikView Server Settings.ini file include (1) stopping the QlikView Server Service (QVS) on all Windows servers running the QVS; (2) ensuring that the entry AllowAlternateAdmin=1 is under the [Settings 7] section and not under the [Authentication] section.

See Qlik Support articles How to Modify the QlikView Server Settings.ini file and QlikView Management Console: Allow admin using name and password.

Hi MK,

The issue should not exist if you have the user added to local administrator and start the service with its logon credentials.

Thanks

Maheswaran.
