Slider Object for Dynamic Dates in Chart

Hi Community,

I would like to create a slider object that controls the dates in a chart so that it can be dynamic depending on the user preference.

I have attached a sample dashboard which I would hope to replicate. One item that my actual dashboard has is a YearMonth field created in the Master Calendar and I am not familiar on using vMax and Vmin dates.

Any help rendered will be truly appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm not sure if I understand why this isn't working for you.

I've attached a copy of your sample QVW file with a working slider that changes the selection on the chart.

You should be able to make your slider by just selecting the field with your date and then selecting "Multi Value" if you want them to be able to select a range of dates in that field:

Thanks Nicole.

My idea is to have a line chart that shows the corresponding dates selected using the sliding scale, just as it would in excel. i am finding that it is not that straight forward to have a chart show all dates and then give you the option to select say Jan-2016 through Sept-2017 in the chart.

How can I use an input box instead of a slider? I think because the date range in my actual data set is huge, it might be beneficial to give the user full control of selecting the range they would like to focus on.
