Sorting in Pivot Table by Order #?

Hi guys,

I have a Pivot table with my dimensions as: Customer, OrderID, Order Date and Product. My expressions are Sales and Quantity. I would like to sort the table by Order ID in ascending order. I have selected the Sort tab in the Properties dialog box and then clicked on the dimension and changed it to numeric value in ascending order, clicked apply and there is no change. If anyone could help me with this I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi Miller,

In the Pivort table choose sort tab ,then select your dimension field. If the expression option is enabled ,place your Dimension field there and select ASEC or DESC from dropdown.

If Expression option is disable go to Y-Value option ,then select ASEC or DESC from Dropdown.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Krishna

Perhaps the following post will help you.  Check out the sample .qvw files

Try to promote OrderID in the first position (above other dimensions and expressions) in sort tab and then click ascending order for numeric values (and A-Z for text... maybe OrderId is not interpreted as numeric)

Hope this helps you

Hi Chase,

In the sort tab promote your ORDERID to top and select the sorting order, if not select the Expression option in the sort tab and write the sorting expression.

I need the pivot table to be expanded, but I need it to be sorted in ascending order of total sales of each customer. I have attached a snapshot of the final product. Because I am using the Qlikview Personal Demo Edition to complete this project, I am unable to view shared .qvw files. If anyone has any suggestions as to how to achieve this I'd greatly appreciate it.
