Static background image in Pivot Table

Hello,

I have a pivot table that I would like to add a static background image to, however I can't get it to appear.

I have tried adding the image from Style > Background > Image but it doesn't seem to appear.

I saw the note, 'Please note that background formatting settings made in this dialog will not be visible if the overlying cell style of selection style is opaque' but not sure how to handle this.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

M

it is correct the way you did, just need to add one more thing after adding the image go to style tab and modify the cell background color transparency and cell borders transparency and your image will show.

Hi mvankluyve,

go one step back an set the transparancy of the cell Background to 100%.

Hope that helps

That's great, thanks very much both!

My only follow up question now is how do I ensure that my columns and rows stay static (i.e. not restricting values from changing with set analysis, but making sure blank rows / columns don't disappear)?

Thanks!

Hi mvankluyve,

on dimesion tab make sure "Surpress when value is null" is NOT marked.

On Presentation tab make sure "Supress Zero Values" and "Surpress Missing" is not marked. If this doesn't help than you Need to create "0"-Datasets for each Dimension or combination of dimensions.

If this was helpful, it would be nice if you mark it as helpful. Then it will be shown as solution an we will get some Points for it. 🙂

To make the columns and rows static, on the Pivot Chart Properties, Presentation sheet, set "Always Fully Expanded" as ticked.
