Structural problem

Hi,

can anyone help me solve this dilemma rgd. my data_model:

- I have a diagram where I display, among others, the nr. of employees assigned to a certain personell_unit

- Per Applymap, I fetch three fields from mapping tables (for the purpose of user_selections)

     - Plant

     - Bigger_area

     - Area

=> Now I have a new diagram where I want to display this "nr_assigned" plus the nr. of employees who have checked in on that day. This display should follow the same user_selections on the three fields named above.
<=> I cannot give those fields the same name or I'll end up with a synthetic key.

Can I somehow make QlikView "repeat" the selections the user has made on set1 of these fields on set2 (same fields, different names)?

Thanks a lot!

Best regards,

DataNibbler

Add Select in Field actions to the OnSelect field triggers of the fields of set1 to make selections in the fields of set2.

Hi Gysbert,

that's in the document_properties, right?

I already tried that. For some reason it didn't work yet, I'll try again - but I'll have to test if those field-level-triggers work in IE -> all my apps are viewed by the employees in IE and we had a problem once because sheet-level-triggers don't work there.

I'll test that right now.

P.S.: There might be more tables with the same user_selections, so more sets of those same three mapping_fields. That shouldn't be a problem, though?

Hi Gysbert,

it works. I had first tried it by putting that trigger on "field change", that didn't work. On "field selection", it works - and it also works on IE.

Thanks a lot!

Hi Gysbert,

can you help me once more?

It seems that these triggers work only one-way - when I make a selection on field1, then field2 and field3 show the same selection (in green). <=> But when I take it off field1, it stays on field2 and field3.

Can I somehow fix that?

Thanks a lot!

Can you post a document that demonstrates the problem?

Hi Gysbert,

I'm afraid I can't for two reasons:

- The app where I had this problem is the HR app with lots of sensitive data.

- I tried it out myself in a brand-new app with two inline tables - those interacted perfectly, switching the selections on and off in sync...

Moreover, I have a different task right now, so it'll be a little while until I get to this again.

Sorry!

I'll be back with a new thread when I get to it again and the problem still persists.

Thanks a lot anyway!

Best regards,
