Hi Everyone
Hope you are all having a good day.
I am a total newbie to Qlik, I have downloaded the Personal Edition v11 in an attempt to learn Qlikview and am getting on OK with the Developer side of things. Where I am struggling is the Designer side. I am trying to manually convert some of my dashboards built with SSRS into Qlik Designer.
In SSRS I am used to an almost infinite level of configurability by using expressions and being able to do quite simple things using various properties. I seem to be OK with total basics of charts, etc. but where I seem to struggle is fine-tuning elements of a chart. For example, rotating a legend or placing it at say the bottom of the chart rather than to the side.
Also, and I'm sorry if this is really simple and I'm now going to look stupid, but changing the colour of a bar on a chart. In SSRS, click the bar and select the colour in one of three places. I can see the Colours tab in the Properties but have tried clicking on a different colour but nothing happens.
I dont suppose anyone has written a guide on converting from SSRS to Qlikview Designer? Or if anyone can point me in the direction of suitable reading\training material, I would be extremely grateful.
Thanks in advance for your help
I don´t think there´s such material.
Keep calm, knowledge takes time, you didn´t learn SSRS in a week
For example:
1) Adjusting positions of legends, use Control+Shift combination and place the legend anywhere you want
2) Changing bar color, expand the expression and use "Background color" setting

I'm too impatient for my own good sometimes.
See, yesterday, I was working on my Mac using RDP to connect to the machine with Qlik on it, whenever I clicked on the colours, nothing happened. Today, I am working directly on the machine and I now get the option to change the colour.
Moving the Legend is v cool
Thanks very much for helping me out. Still plenty more to learn, new book on the way tomorrow.
Cheers
