Unable to open Qlikview files from Network shared folder

Hi,

I have provided license details in the qlikview server for the qlikview personal edition. So now it has been changed to desktop edition.

I have also given the named CAL license for certain people and allow license lease so that they can open in FILE-->OPEN in SERVER option.

The problem is , they have a shared folder or drive , from the folder they are not able to open the QV documents.

They are getting error like "the QV file was created by another Personal edition user ..." .

How can I open the document now from the shared folder?

Kindly help out!

Hi,

It seems that the QV Personal Edition is not getting the license from the server, do you configure the right user for the Personal Edition?

In the QMC you have to give the licenses to the users, and later OPEN in SERVER... write the user and password and that's all, is not necessary open the file really

Yeah. I have already given the Assigned CAL's and allow license lease to them. They are able to open the documents when they use FILE-->OPEN IN SERVER, username and password but not through the shared folder eg:(\\135.65.32.16\qa\applications\budget2018.qvw)

Using the same Qlikview Client? If you have the license in your QVClient you can open any file, because you´re using the same client, isn´t it?

Another question, Can you reach the file from your computer?

To avoid having to connect every time to the QVW in the server you can set in the QlikView Desktop settings > User Preferences > Locations > Default License Lease (URL) > the url to your QlikView Server, for example, qvp://qvserver.company.com

As for the second, as José Miguel suggests, make sure you have permissions on the folder AND the share where the QVW you want to open is stored.
