License number you have is a license for Local Client Version?

If your company has a QlikView Server you'd have to use license lease.

What you need is a License number and a control number, once you enter those the LEF should be automatically downloaded provided you have internet access.

Or you could get a license by connecting to a server that allows leasing licenses.

Hi,

when you open your PE, in the main_menu "File", there is an option to "open on server". You have to use that to open any app that is located on your server. Then your client will automatically be assigned a license if there is one.

Yes they provided me a license for Local Client. Can't I activate my PE with this LEF without need to connect server?

I have internet connection.

As of now no server info is specified to connect only I got Local Client LEF . Do I need anything else to activate and see one of QVW sent by them?

You need a License Key and a Control Code first. LEF is generated when you inserted first these two values.

If you don't succeed in creating lLEF from Qklik, try with manual LEF page online (search in Google "manual LEF Qlikview".

Well, does your company have QlikViewServer?

Does that server allow license leasing? - A QlikView_admin should be able to tell you that - if you have any? If you are supposed to be QlikView_Admin, you'll have to effect your being included in the local group >> QlikView_admins << so you can access QEMC.

If you have QlikView_Server and license_leasing is allowed, you only need the connection info to the server.

Phone Qlik Support / Concierge.  I have found them to very helpful sorting things like this.

Do double check your licence is properly legitimate first [and not already being used by anybody else], or it could be an embarrassing call for you.

Another thought for a Local Client Licence you need to apply it via :

     Settings

     User Preferences

     License

[If you try to apply it via Help | Licence Update, it won't work for a Local Client Licence]
