Viewing data in a range

Hi,

This is my first time asking a question, so hope it's all ok.

In using Qlikview, is there anyway that you can create like a sheet object that will let you view certain data fields in a certain range, but that the user can enter the parameters.

For example, it's really just so they can see how much sales there was in a certain range of months, like May 2010 - December 2010. Is there any way that a user can select that they want to see the Sales in that range, without any scripting required on their end, just the entry of dates.

Thanks.

You can add listboxes for the fields you want users to make selections in. Right click the sheet and choose Select Fields... Next, add the fields and click OK. You can display the Sales in a listbox too if all you want to show is the Sales.

If you want to see for example Product, Month and Sales in context you could add those fields to a table box object.

If you want to show the sum of the sales per product and month you could use a straight table or pivot table object. You'd add Product and Month as dimensions and create an expression sum(Sales).

Hi shanefitz,

you can make multiple selection in a listbox by ctrl+clikking every values you want to select or listing them in the search text box (separeted by blank).

Hope it's what you were looking for.
