People, I see the term Field and I see the term Dimension. It gets rather confusing. What, in a layman's language, is a Dimension?
Does a Field become a Dimension? If yes, at what point?
Thanks.
Dimension is a field that you would group your value in your preferred chart or table.
For example, you would have a sum of sales by each month in a table.
In this table, the month act as your dimension whereas Sum of Sales is your measurement
A measurement is a field where you may perform aggregation function, such as sum, count, min, max and so on.
Thanks and regards,

Hi
It is a descriptive field in the data set which represents few distinct values.
Examples − Month, Year, Product ID etc.
A field rather is used as a dimension.
Thanks
Thanks a lot for the link. It led me to this link
Nice!
Dimensions are your categories or groups.
Fields can be either Dimensions or Measures. Dimensions are qualitative.
In the Question...."What are our Sales by Country?"
Country is a dimension, sales is a measure.
