What is a good alternative to Nested IF in chart expression?

I have two charts to display TRENDS and ATTRITION. Three drivers for these charts are Scenario, Period and Perspective. There are 5 scenarios [A,B,C,D,E], 4 period [YTD, Month, Quarter, Half-Year] and 5 perspectives [Organization, Level, Grade, City, Technology] that work as combination to display these two charts. Period is common between both charts.

TRENDS Chat therefore has 20 combinations of Scenario + Period as nested IF with different expression. Simultaneously ATTRITION chart will display one perspective at a time with the same Period as in TREND chart for the given scenario on TREND chart. We end up with 100 nested IFs in the bottom chart. Ex: Level wise Attrition % [Perspective] plotted by dimension Month [Period] for all employee limited to C [Scenario].

I guess using nested IF in this kind of scenario may not possibly be the best solution. Appreciate and welcome your suggestions of any alternate approach.

Use different expressions and use the conditional display condition to show hide them depending on the selections in the driver fields. See this blog post for more information: How Not to Choose an Expression | Qlikview Cookbook‌. You could also create an excel file with the expressions and load the expressions in a field like explained in this blog post: How to Choose an Expression | Qlikview Cookbook
