What is the defination of Intervalmatch? And how it is useful in qv?
Not to be a total grump, but please search.
IntervalMatch is a function that you can use as part of a load statement to perform a join using a numeric range.
For example if I had an orders table and I wanted to figure out what promotions I was running when the item was ordered I could use intervalmatch. Check out this thread for a working example
Well, I can be the total grump, then. Bhaskar9133, you're spamming the forum with a LOT of very basic questions on a lot of different topics. I started answering a few, but it's getting ridiculous. Have you used QlikView before? Have you used Publisher? Have you taken the tutorial? Have you had any instruction at all?
If you're new, you should really start with the tutorial and perhaps an introductory class. Then once you've learned the basics of QlikView, if you still have questions, first look in the help text or the reference manual. They will explain to you what an intervalmatch is, for instance, and how to write one. If you still have questions, do a search on the forum. Chances are good that someone has already answered your question.
If you are new, and do post to the forum, consider posting in the "New to QlikView" section. It doesn't make much difference to me since I read all the sections together, but it's probably useful to keep things categorized as QlikTech appears to have intended.
Also, when asking questions, it helps to provide detail for your SPECIFIC problem. Why are you considering using intervalmatch? What are you trying to accomplish? Can you give us some sample data? How about a sample chart for what results you'd like to see based on that sample data? The idea is to post a sample application using inline loads that demonstrates what you're trying to accomplish, allowing us to test out ideas without having to create the application ourselves.
Hi,
