With the row number the pivot is not re-ordinable with doubleclicking on the columns headers

Hello everybody,

I've one pivot with one column that is the result of the function =RowNo(total). My purpose is to see the "position" of one row in the pivot (for ranking the rows). The point is that if in a pivot there is one column with that function, it's not possible to re-order the rows of the pivot double clicking the headers of the columns!

In my application I need to re-order continuously the rows… what can I do? Do you know if there is a simpler way to know the row number of each row in a pivot (having at the same time the possibility to re-order the rows double-clicking on the columns headers?)

Thanks,

Federico

Frederico,
See my example on "Share QlikViews":

Maybe it's not exactly what you want, but it may give an idea.

Michael,

thanks a lot for your example. Attached to this post you'll find your qvw with a new Pivot showing the problem I've found: the problem is that if you have a calculated field (like the number of years) you can easely re-order the rows double-clicking on the column headers, but if you join a new column with the function =RowNo(total) what happenes is:

1) the dimension columns will continue to be re-ordered as usual

2) the calculated column will not be ordered any more...

Try to reorder double-clicking on the columns headers and you will see...
