YTD over PYTD, QTD over PQTD, MTD over PMTD

Please suggest how to perform current year with previous year, current quarter with previous quarter, current month with previous month analysis by using variables.

I want to select the data for particular year, particular quarter in that year, particular month in that year.

If i select particular year to particular month in that year, only that data should be displayed in current year and in previous year.

Suppose i want see the sales from this year March to september and compare the same sales with same dates in previous year March to september.

The date selection should be dynamic like if i select particular year and particular month only that dates should be selected and compared with previous year same dates.

Hi,

this kind of analysis is usually performed with a set of Calendar flags - CYTD, PYTD, etc... and Set Analysis.

Using Set Analysis and pre-calculated Calendar flags, you can create aggregations that summarize data for the selected Year/Month, or the YTD period based on the selected Year-Month, and the same period a year ago.

For some types of analysis you might need to build a so called "As of Date" table.
