is it possible to have a definition field that refers to a Definition rather than repeating the formula?

E.g.

Def1 - total of sales

Def2 - total target

Def3 - Def1/Def2    (i.e. instead of total of sales/total target)

You can use the expression labels the way you mentioned.

Def1 and Def 2 needs to be expression label and then it can be referred in your third expression.
