Hi, can qlikview connect to an ftp url to access data?
Some quick google searching turned up a thread from 2010 with a later reply in 2013 about a file connector in progress on qvsource. I will swim around some more, but thought I'd drop my question here in case anyone has a quicker/current answer. Thanks!
In the script editor
- check "Use FTP"
- click the button
Thanks, I got as far as an error message about auth ssl/tls something required before authentication.
I confirmed I can access the sftp site from filezilla though so not sure where qlikview is stuck - filezilla let me specify a port # too if that makes a difference. (And sorry, sftp might've been a significant difference compared to ftp in my initial question.)
Thanks, correct answer for the ftp connection screenshot (facepalm myself. )
It looks like sftp is another can of worms compared to just ftp. I followed the link to the thread about that, and a link from that thread to the file transfer connector information. Studying this now:
File Transfer Connector (FTP/SFTP) For QlikView & Qlik Sense
cool
And QlikSource is a 3rd party api that costs money.
So we're at the part where we use another tool to move stuff from the sftp folders to where qlikview can reach it. (We're just using powershell for this ourselves.)
