date management

Hi all,

I have 2 sets of data which they from different sources. One set of table already linked with master calendar, another one with the date and customer name that can be used to link with the original table.

I would like to have both tables act simultaneously for the date (like year, month) and any selection customer. How should I link this table?

Thanks in advance and hope someone can share some light to me.

You could concatenate, or may be join, the Facts from the 2 data sources into a single Fact table and create linked satellite dimension tables for your Customer and Calendar dimensions.  Thus giving you the classic Star Schema that is so often recommended.

Thanks for your input first!

I did think of this but indeed except the customer name, there is no any linkage between the 2 sets of data. If I join 2 tables, it seems that it will create lots of fields with null values, should I avoid this or it doesn't matter indeed?
