A qvd is a QlikView data file and a qvw is a Qlikview workbook.

Storing your data in a qvd and then pointing to it in your qvw is much much quicker than if you point to xls, csv, txt etc. files.

QVW is the qlikview application.. (When saving an application developed in qlikview the file extension is .qvw

QVD is Qlikview Data format.. we can convert any kind of database into QVD format and it reduces the loading time when loading from QVDs.
