send email alert when job finishes?

We have QlikView server set up to send notification when jobs fail, but I would like to configure a task to send an alert when the task completes. I have had it distribute the document by email, but the document is a 300MB file and I don't want that! Is there a simple way to do this?

I looked at alerts within the qvw, but very hard to get that to work with the server and it required coding every app; I would rather just have a "job finished" notification from the management console.

Hi

I believe only option is to use the Alerts.

yes as you said, we need to configure alerts in each QVW.

a workaround I can think of is to create a very simple QlikView and have its reload dependent on the main QlikView, then distribute it to myself. This seems ridiculous though.

Sending email notification to recipients is the worst possible solution. The whole point is to notify someone to perform a sanity check on the data before sending a report to end users.

Yes you can try that option too.

But one thing is Alerts are under Developer control, if you use a QVW, you need to create a Task depending on the actual task.
