variable confusion = or not

Hi,

I have a number of variables created which I reference in a pivot, in my expression that references the variables it shows blank unless I filter 1 record in the dimension used in the pivot and change the variable to have an = before it. 

I believe it is something to do with aggregation so in the variable I have then placed an aggr and aggregated it based on the dimension in question however this doesnt work.

can someone please help

are the variables simply a value or they are calculated by expresion?

Hi,

You may define the variable without = sign before it. e.g sum(Filed1) / Sum(Fileld_2).  In chart expression use the variable as $(variable_name).
