What to check when opening qvw files from accesspoint is slow?
When opening qvw files from accesspoint, the file opening speed is much slower than before.
What part should I check?
Please reply after checking.
Thanks & Regards.
@qwebnm Good morning. there are two things that Accesspoint is doing in the back end.
(1) Accesspoint tries to find out who you are (authentication), and (2) populates a list of documents that you have access to (authorization). Or, rather, QlikView server performs point #2, but the QVWS/IIS needs to communicate with the QVS to display the list to you, the user.
- Check the volume of QVWs goes to point #2, as does the relative location of the applications, and of the servers. Meaning, if your QVWs are hosted on network storage (NAS1) and your QVS is on one server (Server1) and your QVWS is on another server (Server2), those are all nodes that must be navigated by the network before your AP will display the list of application to you.
- Make sure that the network speed between all components is good.
Hi @qwebnm,
In addition to Lucas's good advice you want to ensure that you don't have any unnecessary files in the Mounted Folders and only have .QVW, .Meta, or .Tshared (or .shared). Any other file types should be removed. See the below Qlik Knowledgebase articles for more details:
Can you provide a screen shot of your QMC > System > Setup > QlikView Servers > Folders ? It may be helpful for us to provide further recommendations.
Best Regards
Hi @qwebnm
In addition to the provided information, the details about requirements are listed in our Qlik Site:
It is suggested to share the documentation with your network team and refer to "Shared Network Storage" section where the network latency is described, also share with your internal team to see all the other requirements for QlikView Cluster are met.
I was curious about the description above, when you say that is slower than before, was this after an upgrade? has this happened over the time like after a year or just in a couple of weeks? Is it on all apps or only some of them? Have you seen any increase in resource consumption in general? If so what are the things that you have noticed (maybe look at the Governance Dashboard). Were there new applications deployed that could impact performance? If there was an upgrade, was it QV version or Windows server version? Any details to narrow down where the problem relies would be appreciated.
Hope it helps!

Thank you for answer.
I'm not sure how to check if the network speed is good.
1. When a user opens a qvw file in AccessPoint
1) Do you mean to check the network speed with DevTools (F12) in the web window of the actual user's PC?
2) Both real user and server need to check network speed with DevTools?
Also, is there an average standard or number to check if the network speed is good?
2. If it is a method other than the above method, please provide a detailed method.
Thanks & Regards.

1. I was informed that it was slow within a month after the upgrade.
2. Happens in all apps.
Slow in the morning and back to normal in the afternoon.
The difference between morning and afternoon users is less than 5, so it doesn't seem like it's caused by a lot of users.
3. There seems to be no newly deployed applications.
4. Upgraded QlikView Server version.
Please answer.
Thanks & Regards.
Hi @qwebnm
What are the previous and current QV versions involved (could you include the SR if any for each of them?)
Did you have the chance to compare resource consumption in the Governance Dashboard and see if there might be something different? (More concurrent users, higher resources, more documents open, etc)?
Thank you !
