To Offer the best combination of Products and Implementation Services to the Client, we need to understanding on following points. Requesting you provide the Information on the same.

1. Client has Microsoft Navision (SQL Database). Is there a Connector Available for the same ? What is its Price ?
2. What are features Available in Small Business Server Edition ?
3. Since Client has a small Scale Business, what are the alternatives to PDF Report Distribution Service and Qlikview Publisher ? Are Publisher or Report Distribution Feature also included in the Small Business Server Edition ?
4. Can you share some more Information or Documentation on Qlikview Integration with Microsoft Navision ?

Hi,

Welcome to the club.

Find Below answers

1) No separate connector needed. You just need a odbc or OLEDB connection to Fetch data.

2) SBE is restricted to use with 25 Named cal and 100 Document Cal, as its meant for smaller implementation.

3) In order to have PDF distribution feature, You need to purchase a separate Licences for the same, You can have a look at third party tool like NPRINTING too regarding the same.

4)what type of integration you are looking at?

Hi Ashfaq,

Thanks for your response on 1 and 2.

For Point 3, have a further question. How feature of Qlikview Publisher can be achieved with SBE ?

For Point 4, Integration on, how we can connect Navision and Qlikview. Sample scripts for Loading Navision Tables into Qlikview etc. Any kind of Documentation on Navision - Qlikview ?

Hi,

For point 3. You need to buy 2 addons from Qlik

1) QlikView Publisher a separate License ( I would say a must tool)

2) QlikView PDF Distributer (Used for PDF Report distribution) Instead of this I suggest you to go with NPRINTING.

Regarding Point 4 I'm not really sure, But below links will help you.

Navision 4.0 ODBC

Guides on Navision/Dynamics C5

Navision native database connection ?

Hi Ashfaq,

Thanks for you response once again.

For you Response on Point, on buying Qlikview Publisher. The Cost of SBE is $ 8400, while Publisher is $ 21000. The Cost of Publisher is high for a small scale business enterprise. Is there not any alternative to this ?

Hi,

There is no alternative to publisher, Like there is for PDF distributed ( Which is NPRINTING).

But you can move on without publisher. Later you can think about buying publisher.

If you don't have publisher you have to handle security by NTFS file system, which publisher does by default.
