Wizard for Set Analysis

Hi all

i need to give my users the ability to build there own expressions also set Analysis expressions in a simple way ....

i was wondering if there is some kind of extension wizard that i could add to the document

so that even a first time user could edit an expression without any course or help

Thanks

J

Instead of having users write their own expressions, you're better off going with something like this: http://community.qlik.com/blogs/qlikviewdesignblog/2014/01/31/customizable-straight-table

This way, the expressions are always written correctly, so that users are getting correct information.  If you want to allow them to use charts other than a straight table, you can add a fast change to let them choose a different type of chart.

There is also this.  It doesn't cover every scenario but it gets the basics.

Hi Jonathan,

there is one here: Set Analysis Wizard for QlikView | qlikblog.at

But, of course it's hard to understand for beginners and it's outside of QlikView.

In case you insist :

Set Analysis Wizard for QlikView | qlikblog.at

but cannot be integrated in QV.

Impressive - triple simul-post with the same link in each!

I thought the timing seemed suspicious - especially since the three appeared five hours after the previous post. Thanks for the info.

Set Analysis is a techie thing : it is NOT for users

Do either simple selection (easy way in QV). Users will see a lot with that simple way of doing.

Create Alternate States : same thing as above, but with several separated selections on the same dimension (very useful to compare things)

Create Set Analysis with variables and let the users modify the variables through dedicated QV objects (Calendar, input box, sliders ...). For example, you will have a measure for data X months ago (next to the data of this month): the user may choose the X and it is enough (no need to create the Set Analysis)

The interface must be simple, stupidly simple.
