Dear all,
the idea is to install a QV12 desktop on the current server before upgrading the server to see how it behaves.
In our case, can this desktop version access the license of the QV11 server or how would you solve it from your point of view, keyword sandbox system?
Thanks and
best regards
Dirk Lange
It's been a long time since QV11 went obsolete, but if memory serves, QV12.X Desktop will behave poorly with a QV11.X server. I'd suggest you instead install a test server for QV12.X and a matching QV12.X desktop version and test that way, rather than using mismatched versions.

thank you very much for the prompt reply!
I totally agree with Or besides any unaligned environment is not be supported by Qlik.
Qlik only supports the same build version between QlikView Server and QlikView Desktop / IE-plugin as QlikView is tested only with aligned versions of the software. This means that we cannot guarantee the functionality of the product when connecting from a different client version.
This is extremely important for major versions (for instance Qlikview 11.20 and QlikView 12), but also for service releases (for instance: QlikView 12.60 SR1 vs. 12.60 SR2).
Or is correct, but you will not be able to use your license on both systems.
