Coming soon for Tabular Reporting

The initial release of Qlik Cloud Tabular Reporting in December was a long awaited capability for many customers.   We will continue to expanded the functionality within the broader roadmap.

This post offers a short-term outlook for some improvements in development for the Tabular Reporting capability.  Stay tuned to the What's New for official availability notices over the course of Q1'24.

  1. Qlik Add-in: Change template connection - when working with report templates there can be the need to author against App A and then use against App B  (a copy of the app, or maybe just sharing an example via app/template) - we'll have a simple config that allows for a template to be re-connected to a different app/tenant.
  2. PDF file format support - offering the flexibility to author a tabular report and configure the report task to output reports in PDF file output.
  3. Managed Space support - we know you need it! A similar report creation and task management experience for Managed Space apps that support tabular reporting requirements.

The feedback from customers / partners has been fantastic! Please keep growing the discussion in this forum, sharing your experience and increasing the community knowledge around tabular reporting use cases.  Of course, use our Ideation portal to suggestion additional capabilities.

Disclaimer: as with any future looking statements I need to caveat that this post is not a commitment and timing/feature functionality can change.  Please continue to work with the official product in hand, documented through help.qlik.com, as the confirm expected functionality.

that's great. Can we have below feature on priority

charts in email body. So along with attachment of excel / pdf, we can add some important KPI in mail body.

Some of my contacts are not moving to qlik cloud because of missing this feature.

Also, It will be helpful for us that if you share what's next for reporting.

Great dreamer's dreams never fulfilled, they are always transcended.
Please appreciate our Qlik community members by giving Kudos for sharing their time for your query. If your query is answered, please mark the topic as resolved 🙂

No ability to embed charts or tables into the body of the email.

  • Embedded email/html reports is different reporting use case that we continue to evaluate within the broader Qlik Cloud platform offering
  • FYI, today you could consider using Qlik Application Automation to embed straight tables in an html body email as part of an automation.  More of a developer driven opportunity but a variant of the use cases is possible.

We have observed that the date format is not kept in "Source formatting" option in tabular reporting. Date which looks like 4/25/2025 in the app is shown as 4-25-2025 in the report. I have tried different date formats in the excel editor and also tried changing the format from qlik app but was unsuccessful. Is there a way through which we can achieve the similar format as in the app.

Hi @Fawad_Ahmed ,

In which language is set your browser? I think the setting are reverted to us_US  because it is set in one languange not included in the 15 supported listed in https://help.qlik.com/en-US/cloud-services/Subsystems/Hub/Content/Sense_Hub/UserInterface/Languages....

Best Regards,

Ruggero

When you run a report preview the generated report will use the settings of the browser if it uses one of the 15 supported languages otherwise it reverts to us_US. If you removed the Keep Source Format option the preview should use the custom settings.

In Qlik Sense you can force the field to be exported as text with the format you want by using the text() function.

Then I suggest to open a conversation specific for this question, or a suport ticket, with all the details of your scenario like screenshot of the Qlik Sense source and the template etc. We need to be able to reproduce the issue to suggest a solution.

Best Regards,

Ruggero
