Currently Qlik allows filters based on an AND condition. We are asking for the ability to also choose an OR condition, i.e. allow the return of results that is a union join.
Hi, I think this idea goes against the nature of Qlik associative engine. So Qlik works like - here is everything lets explore associations by applying selections... By introducing OR concept you are not only inverting it but you are excluding the biggest power - associations. So why would you change the biggest advantage Qlik has? In my opinion -no point.
OR scenarios are rare and can be handled in data model or objects via available set analysis. So it is not that you cannot do it, you just need to know how to do it.
Hi, we understand this goes against the grain of how Qlik operates however there is potential value. According to our consultants, we are not the only clients asking for this feature either. The ask is related to a table-based search application consisting of over 800 fields. Set analysis would not be prudent in this scenario.
