It would be great if sheets / bookmarks / or app objects could be resource types for custom properties.

Currently, we are applying app-level access using custom properties, but still have many applications with duplicated information and slightly different format or visualizations for different groups. It would be much easier to maintain if we had one app with sheets that were restricted to specific users and groups from AD (which we are using custom properties to do currently for apps).

Yes, that would be great, but we access Qlik if this will be implemented 3 years ago because of the demand of a customer and get the answer that this will never be implemented. 

But i hope Qlik changes there road map and implement this as well as 3-4 other points of this least asap. Because these points are all more relevant than yet another chart type, formatting option or "insights" :). 

If they don't like to implement it per sheet than maybe at least for groups of sheets - because a way of grouping sheets is also always requested from customers.

It will be better if each sheet had their own expression box to calculate if the sheet should be accesible or not by the current user, this will allow for more dynamic sheet Access and easy maintenance by an external file/database. Same way it was done in Qlikview.

If it's not posible at least this idea can help to make simpler security rules.

Please make this happen. Sheet level access is a thing. Having custom properties be applied to app objects to control user access to at least sheets would be very useful.

Qlik released a new feature dealing with sheet-level security last year. See the second point under Visualization section here:

It doesn't deal with custom properties but it can effectively be used to show/hide sheets for different users.
