Business logic vocabulary sharing between applications
In many organisations a lot of commonality and crossover of data terms will inevitably exist across many applications. The ability to create a common overlay vocabulary to create once and apply to many applications reduces the effort to both prepare and maintain this. If a vocabulary exists in an application, the ability to export this and apply it to other applications should be extended, to include report generation showing those terms where no corresponding field/master item/value matched in the target application, to allow for verification and auditing. Alternatively a shared vocabulary definable for applications to make use of could be employed, in addition to keeping each application's specific vocabulary to complement this.
Thank you for the feedback. This is something we are currently developing and the intention is that users will be able to define a vocabulary (and other metadata) at the catalog level and share this into an app.
