Data Connections in QMC

It should be possible to create Data Connections in QMC. There is an API after all. Doing it in hub apps is not sustainable in a proper enterprise scale org.

I second this suggestion. Especially for QAP installations, where you cannot easily create data connections in an app, as you cannot open the app.... 😕

Really need this as it requires the admin user to have/consume a professional license to create a data connection even though they never use apps.

Is this feature added on the roadmap?

Hi @John_Teichman

Thanks for the update. Is there any update on the progress though? Has it been evaluated? Since the qrs API already exists for it it seems like something that should be simple to add.

Regards,

Mauritz

We are in the midst of a review of the existing ideas before we roll out improvements to the program. As part of the review, we are looking at all of the ideas. We have seen requests like this before, however, I do not believe this is currently under consideration by the product manager.

Sorry, to keep iterating on a closed issue, but why did you close the request with the more likes, and the most debate? Would it not be better to close: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Qlik-Sense-Enterprise-Ideas/Data-Connections-in-QMC/idc-p/1643171?

I agree. Totally disappointed. Putting duplicates to one side which is fair enough, I feel there is sometimes a disconnect between product feature prioritization between customers and R&D. This was evidenced from feedback discussion at luminary event in Lund. In large enterprise environments these sorts of feature gaps may seem insignificant to Qlik but will in fact form negative views about the product's capability from teams who hit issues with deployments and also automation.

Thanks for the continuous likes - unfortunately it looks as if this one is not going to be prioritized any time soon.
