Default Qlik Script ships with SET CreateSearchIndexOnReload=1, without a comment to say "set to 0 for QVD QVX, 1 for QVW QVF",

Background

For every app that is built there are one or many QVDs created. Meaning that in fact there are many times more QVD scripts than app scripts.

Issue

When creating QVDs default script setting causes unnecessary burden on server to calculate Search Index, that is not required by QVD usage. As indicated by line 14 in default script (below)

Suggestion

Prompt user to change setting for QVD generation or add comment to (such as in title) to line 14 of Script

Or Upon save have Qlik prompt user to change the setting if sole purpose of app is to create a QVD. likewise to drop tables that are not needed, but this may be harder to automate.

I have seen videos that suggest up to 20% of compute time can be saved as well as reducing QVD footprint.
