It would be great if user could expand/collapse ALL a branch to the end, to the last element (today if I had 5 dimension fields you need to expand element by element)

are you talking about the "expand / collapse all" option already present in the pivot grid for a long time?
What I intended was an expand / collapse only of the selected branch and not of the whole pivot.
