The null target feature of Qlik Replicate is hidden by default and most customers will only learn about it through a Qlik support interaction. In mid-2022, using the null target was posted as community knowledge. This is a good step forward, however this ideation is to promote the Null Target as a standard feature of Replicate and document it in the user guide.
Benefits of awareness and use of the null target:
Develop and test only the source of a replication task, which is often the most difficult.
Profile source data CDC activity so proper optimizations can be undertaken. Many underperforming Replicate tasks are created because the default settings are used and analysis of the CDC volume has not been taken into consideration.
Encourage a best practice of developing a replication task from the source first, then the target, to simplify the process and eliminate troubleshooting variables.
