Under QMC > Apps, we can optionally go to the Column Selector and display Last Reload and Last Modified date/time fields.
As I understand it, Last Reload is the date & time when the app was actually reloaded, whether manually or via a scheduled Task.
Last Modified is either when an app is reloaded OR when a change was made to the Front End, such as a new sheet, the addition or removal of app objects, etc.
However, Last Modified does not include amendments to an app's script.
A developer could amend an app's script, add / remove code tabs, insert data connections, etc. in the Data Load Editor - actions that would certainly be considered modifications in most other file types - but the Last Modified field value would remain unchanged. We are therefore unable to easily see when script edits are made.
I see Qlik SaaS now has Load Script History in app. Whilst I'm not expecting this feature to be added to Qlik CM, the addition of script amendment date/times in QMC > Apps (for both versions of Qlik) would be beneficial.
Ideally, there would be 3 separate fields:
Last Reload - showing reload times only.
FE Last Modified - showing front end modifications, as per the existing Last Modified field, but excluding reloads.
Script Last Modified - showing script modifications only.
The latter 2 could be combined into a single App Last Modified field, but as they're evidently separately identified, it makes sense to include them as separate fields to further clarify what was modified.
Either way, a Last Modified should not include reload time, as that obscures when the app was intentionally amended and both pieces of information are valuable.
Example
An app reloaded successfully (no fail message) but the time it took was greater than usual. The load script was edited at 11:00 today and the app reloaded on schedule at 12:00.
Currently : Last Reload and Last Modified both show 12:00.
Proposed: Last Modified (or Script Last Modified) shows 11:00, Last Reload shows 12:00.
It is immediately clear that an amendment was made prior to the last reload. We would commence investigation into the increased load time with the developer rather than, perhaps, the network connection or the source data.
