We currently use QlikView 11 with NPrinting and have recently started trialling Qlik Sense Business for new projects. We would eventually be looking to migrate existing QlikView apps over to Qlik Sense Business. However, NPrinting is not currently compatible with Qlik's SaaS solutions so we cannot start the migration project.
Implementing this idea would encourage users to upgrade to the new SaaS platform, with the ability to keep existing NPrinting reports.
Qlik NPrinting is Qlik's value add reporting solution for on-premise deployments. There are many new and innovative ways for data consumers to receive their analytics from the Qlik SaaS platform - from Alerting to mobile, to monitored charts and hub customization - there are new capabilities on the horizon with Self-service reporting and collaborative notes. I strongly encourage you to attend QlikWorld online to learn more and bring that back to your modernization activities. In my session at QlikWorld I will speak a bit to the roadmap of reporting on SaaS.
Thank you for info. Still it would be a much needed feature to have on SaaS because Qlik is cloud company without proper tools to create standard email pdf / xlsx reporting from the cloud. Good to hear the roadmap on QlikWorld. Even Garner noticed lag of nprinting on cloud worrying.
Even the Data Transfer tool could be 2 way connection (it might already be) so that you could access SaaS apps with transfer or direct nprinting app connection to cloud from on-prem.
But always open for suggestions since but nprinting is Qlik product with montly / yearly fees and competition is tough and we now what the software next door can do.
Your solution is very cool for the future, and a successor of NPrinting for SAAS is exciting for us, this will allow the scheduling of document shipments to users .
But, I see that with SAAS NP Report, we only be able to send reports to Qlik Users.
This is a big regression compared to the current version of nprinting. My company have 40 000 employees and many partners. Some users just need a pdf to monitor theirs activities.
