Lack of loop and reduce functionality in Qlik sense has a big impact on reload time of the apps in multi-tenant architecture. In Qlikview, we used to be able to reload one app and then use the loop and reduce to generate 100 apps. With lack of the loop and reduce in Qlik Sense, we have to create 100 copies of the app and reload them one by one witch adds significant time to our reload.
Also using section access means that we need to create one huge single app with section access which puts a lot of demand on memory requirements. It also takes much longer to initially open the apps.
Thank you for sharing the Idea with us. We are actually looking into this while we speak and an extension has been developed already from within Qlik. This technically works the same way as loop & reduce does work in QlikView. It is currently not planend as a native capability as part of Qlik Sense but we are looking into the extension and how we can publish it. I'll update the Idea with more details about this asap.
It is under development right now and we will offer a version of it as part of our AMC (Application Management Console).
As soon as it is ready, we will post the files you need to import here as well. Here you can find details about the AMC if you haven't heard about before: https://support.qlik.com/articles/000105383
Hi @lachlanwwells , Thomas and product management will keep everyone updated by marking this idea as "Delivered" status when it is released, accompanied by a comment about which version has the delivery.
Question, is this idea only about field-based loop & reduce, or does this include setting a variable for reload via the task (with option of providing multiple values and looping through them)?
We also have an urgent requirement of Loop and Reduce to be deployed in QlikSense with one of our enterprise customer. Request you to please update when it will be available with AMC.
