Replicate - Implement UI function or API call to reset event counters

Hi - I opened a case asking about this and support suggested I post this as a new idea.

We have a need to reset the change capture event counters back to zero without stopping and restarting the replication task.  We are mostly interested in the DDL change counter.

Background:

  1. After upgrading to the November release, we started seeing "phantom" DDL event notifications in both the console and reports generated by scheduled execution of gettaskstatus calls.  We have an open case for this.
  2. These could be mixed with actual DDL changes such as additions or changes to the existing source endpoint table structure that we are required to log for our production target endpoint system for compliance reasons.  We run most of our tasks in the mode that propagates DDL changes from source to target.
  3. Our process requires us to review the report daily and examine all tables for tasks that report non-zero DDL change events.  Now that the frequency of the DDL event registration has increased, we have to refer to the report for the previous day to see if there was a event since the last reconciliation.

If we could just reset the counter after investigating a non-zero report this would give us better information for the next day.

Thanks.
