Show/Hide Master Items using TAG

We need to show/hide Master Items.    We use section access and omit to hide fields, but that leaves a visible Master Item that doesn't work.  A long time back (4 yrs) we started to use the Description field of the master item which works however the Product Team wants to use Description for it's intended purpose - to Describe the field.

We would like to be able to use a TAG (or other master item property available within Hub) for this purpose.

This is a crucial feature for customers in industries with stringent security requirements such as HIPAA.  In addition, I have a lot of OEM based customers that need to restrict master items based on client or specific users or groups of users.

Thank you all for your feedback on ways to improve our product. While this is something we understand would be useful, it's not on the short-term roadmap. Please continue to show your support for this idea by commenting and liking.

Great idea and very much needed functionality imo, not only from a security perspective but also from a user friendly  self service perspective. If you offer an app for self service but you have a very extensive and complex set of dozens or even hundreds of master measures due to the setup of your application, this complex library is available for the users when they duplicate a sheet for self service purposes. They can easily get lost in the complexity and might lose their motivation to continue with self service because they don't know which master item to use for which visualization due to the complexity. Self service will than lose its power and that's a waste because it is one of the most powerful features of the tool imo.

It would be nice to have the possibility to mark a master item as "available in public/published app" or something like that.

I would even take this further. It would be nice for the front-end developer that there is a possibility to create a folder structure that is visible for end users and help them in their self-service journey and to reduce the complexity for the end users.
