Like in Excel you can turn off the autocalculate function.

I am creating tables etc and every-time i add a new column it starts calculating, and if i am using big volumes of data i get calculation timeouts without being able to check what is causing the issue.

It would be nice to have a preview stage where you can design you visualisation with a limited data set to see if it works first.

@Mandy this already exists, options are 

1 calculated condition.

• 
• you could use GetPossibleCount('fieldname') to only calculate with a limited no of values.

2 Set and lock selections before creating the table

3 Create a limited dataset/app for development purposes
