Cmessagefilter for parsing json in ESB routes

Hi All, 

I have a json like below. I am using the cmessagefilter and the json path expression as "$.subscription.message". The message is not getting parsed. Is there any mistake in the cmessagefilter expression?

"subscription": {
"names": "ravi"
"message": "test"
}
}
